Starting An Ancestry Membership
If you sign up for an Ancestry membership, you get access to the records on Ancestry. There are different memberships options that give you access to different records. People use the records from Ancestry to build their family trees beyond what they already know.

Starting A Membership
To sign up for the membership you can click here. First Select the membership you want to sign up for. If you have an Ancestry account, first click Sign in and then sign in to your account. If do not have an account yet, you must fill out the information in the New Account section and click Save and continue.
Once the account is created, you can select credit/debit cards or PayPal and enter your payment information. Enter your billing information carefully and then click on Proceed to checkout. On the next page, you can review your payment information and click Buy Now.
Starting A Free Trial
To ensure that everyone receives only one trial, you need to fill out the payment details to initiate a free trial. A small pre-authorization charge will appear and later disappear during the trial to verify the payment information.

You can pay by PayPal and all standard credit and debit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
You can also sign up for the Ancestry membership on the Ancestry app through Apple iTunes, Google Play, or Amazon, you’ll need to cancel your membership through Apple, Google Play or Amazon.
Cancelling A Membership Or Free Trial
If for any good reason, you want to cancel the Ancestry membership, you must click on your name or username in the top-right corner of any page on Ancestry and then select Account Settings. Go into the Membership section, and then click on Cancel membership.
If you do not find any cancel membership link on your Account settings page, that means the account you are signed in to does not have an active membership. Despite not getting a cancel membership link, if you are being charged for a membership, that means you possess another Ancestry account.
In that case, you can sign out of the account you are in now and sign back in using a different email address (probably under which you have an active account).
If it does not work out for you then in that case, you can contact Ancestry Support to find the account you are being billed on.
Stop Automatic Renewal
All memberships renew automatically. Unless they’re cancelled except for gift membership. If you cancel Ancestry membership during the refund period, your membership will end immediately and will not renew in future. But if you cancel the membership outside of the refund period, your membership will end at the end of your current period and will not renew.
Billed After Cancelling The Ancestry Membership
If you have been charged on your credit card for membership after you cancel your membership, that means you have a duplicate Ancestry account. You can contact Ancestry so they can find the other account for you for which you have been charged.
